Privacy Policy

This policy describes the limited information Vista Residents Directory receives, how it is used, and the choices available to a visitor. The reference needs no account and does not store a resident record or directory entry about you.

Data You Give Us Directly

Information entered into a name, phone, or address search is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results. Our own servers do not keep a copy of those search terms. If you contact us, we receive the contents of your message and use them to respond.

Data Collected Automatically

Hosting systems may record ordinary technical logs such as an IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps. We use aggregate information to maintain the service and understand which reference material is useful. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement when those services are enabled.

How the Information Is Used

We use limited data to operate the reference, answer messages, fix faults, measure traffic, and improve the pages. We do not sell visitor lists or build individual user profiles from the information described here.

Links to Records Portals

Pages link to county and state record systems, court services, libraries, archives, and sponsored search tools. Once a visitor leaves this reference, the outside provider's privacy policy controls what is submitted and retained. Review that provider's terms before using a form.

Who May Process the Data

Hosting and technical vendors may handle server logs while supporting the service. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the limited automatic data described above. We disclose information when valid legal process requires it, and otherwise keep disclosures to the purposes in this policy.

Security and Retention

The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are kept only for as long as the operational purpose requires. There are no visitor accounts here, so the service does not maintain a password or personal profile that can be exposed from this reference.

People Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information to us, contact us and we will review and remove it when appropriate.

Your California Data Rights

Depending on eligibility and location, a person may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, or opt out of certain uses of personal information. California's Consumer Privacy Act, Civil Code section 1798.100 et seq., as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, supplies the relevant state framework. Because this reference keeps very little, a request normally consists of checking the contact mailbox and applicable server logs and removing information we control.

Use the Contact page for a request. Government records held by California, San Diego County, or Vista offices are outside our control. A deletion or correction request for an assessment, deed, court file, voter record, or vital record must go to the custodian office.

California's Delete Request and Opt-out Platform, or DROP, can send a resident's request to registered data brokers. DROP does not erase a lawful government record, so broker removal and official-record correction are separate processes.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy changes, the revised text will be posted here. Continued use after the update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
